Tier 1: Base Compensation - $2,500 per Month
- This is the foundational compensation that every team member receives. It provides financial stability and reflects their core responsibilities within the Transparency Commission (TC). See Roles Descriptions.
Tier 2: Additional Compensation - Task-Based (Up to $4,000)
- This tier offers additional compensation for performing specific tasks or taking on extra responsibilities. This approach encourages proactive engagement and rewards contributors for going above and beyond.
Criteria for Earning Additional Compensation:
- Task Complexity: The additional compensation should be based on the complexity of the task or responsibility. More complex tasks merit higher additional pay.
- Task Importance: The importance of the task to the NDC's goals and operations should be a factor. Critical tasks receive higher additional compensation.
- Task Completion: Compensation should be tied to task completion. Contributors are rewarded upon successful completion of the assigned task.
Examples of Additional Tasks and Compensation:
- Crafting New Guidelines: For crafting new guidelines or governance policies that significantly impact the NDC's operations, a specific compensation can be determined based on the complexity and importance of the guidelines.
- Organizing Workshops or Events: If a team member is responsible for organizing and executing workshops or events, their compensation can be based on the scale and success of the event.
- Handling External Relations: Team members who actively manage external relationships, secure partnerships, or bring in funding can receive additional compensation based on the value brought to the NDC.
- Innovation and Strategy: Those who contribute innovative ideas or develop new strategies that benefit the NDC may earn additional compensation based on the impact of their ideas.
- Content Creation: If team members create content that enhances the NDC's visibility and reputation, their compensation can be linked to the performance of the content.
- Technical Development: For technical roles, compensation for developing new tools, platforms, or improving existing systems can be based on the significance of the development.
Process for Assigning Extra Work:
- Identification of Tasks: Extra work or additional tasks should be identified based on the NDC's/TC’s needs, goals, and ongoing projects. This can be initiated by any member of the TC.
- Proposal and Approval: All tasks should be added to the Tasks list on Notion with as much information as possible. Some tasks should also be discussed and approved by Council members. The intention here is to prioritise tasks and avoid wasting resources.
- Assignment: Once approved, the task is assigned to a council member or a team member with relevant skills and availability. Teamwork makes dreamwork. Multiple members are able to and encouraged to collaborate on tasks.
